Jane Cooper, M.A.
Associate Consultant

Jane Cooper is a specialist in human resources with extensive experience in designing and implementing all levels of management, professional development, and retirement planning programs. She has demonstrated ability to analyze needs, construct tailor-made programs, and lead workshops, seminars, and conferences.

For 16 years, Jane worked with The Equitable Life Assurance Society of the U.S., New York City, as Internal Training Consultant, Senior Training Consultant, and Director of Corporate Training. At Equitable Life, Jane was responsible for corporate-wide training unit providing behavioral and skills programs and interventions for all managerial and support staff. She also coordinated the global management training programs and ongoing local follow-up. Jane implemented training programs focusing on productivity improvement for the nationwide organization during successive stages of decentralization, downsizing, and relocation. She also assessed organizational training needs; designed and presented new management development programs to meet them. Jane was also responsible for designing, marketing, conducting, and evaluating retirement planning programs for employees.

Jane earned her B.A. in English and M.A. in Adult Education/Gerontology from The University of Michigan. She is a member of the American Society for Training and Development and International Society for Retirement Planning. Jane was Associate Editor and Chapter Author of The Columbia Retirement Handbook, 1994.
